by Business Wire
MARLTON, N.J. -- SAP and Acsis Provide End to End Offering to Help Customers Quickly Comply with Their RFID Mandates, While Laying a Scalable RFID Foundation That Can Be Used Throughout the Enterprise
Acsis, Inc., a leader in delivering shop floor process automation and enterprise data collection solutions for the supply chain, today announces with SAP (NYSE:SAP) the launch of an End to End Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) approach to help customers quickly and affordably achieve compliance.
Utilizing the SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure, built on SAP NetWeaver(R), and Acsis Data-Link(TM) Enterprise platforms, a Certified for SAP NetWeaver(R) solution, these two leaders in RFID and supply chain solutions provide a complete package for both SAP and non-SAP customers. Further, their integrated solution provides the foundation needed to quickly scale and derive value as mandates expand.
With the End to End approach, Acsis and SAP will combine Acsis's Tag/Reader recommendation for hardware, Acsis and SAP process design, software, and complete implementation in 30 days to help customers achieve their immediate compliance needs.* The offering can be delivered either fully integrated with SAP back office systems or as a completely standalone system. Further, the offering can be integrated with any ERP and WMS solution using SAP's Exchange Infrastructure and Acsis Data-Link Enterprise integration capabilities. The integrated offering provides complete device orchestration, data collection, and the transformation of RFID data into business context for commissioning, packing, loading, shipping, tracking, and analytics for RFID.
Additionally, Acsis and SAP offer complete consulting and implementation services that have been utilized at over 75 customers already, including:
--State-of-the-art lab testing, simulating real world conditions
--Tag, reader, and print recommendations
--RFID process and technology consultation
--RFID reporting and analytics
"The complete Acsis and SAP approach provides customers with an unsurpassed solution for RFID," said Steve Selfridge, Chief Executive Officer of Acsis, Inc. "Both Acsis and SAP have provided RFID solutions to large multi-national companies as well as small to midsize businesses. By integrating the solutions and capabilities from both companies, we deliver a complete, scalable, and proven offering that is affordable. With Acsis and SAP, a customer can understand the technology of RFID and how to incorporate it into their business with minimal impact to existing business processes as well as derive value from the data coming back from retailers."
In only two years, retail mandates have scaled from 100 stores and one DC to a projected 1000 stores and over 12 DC's in just Wal-Mart alone. Data availability has moved from simple spreadsheets, to Retail Link, to EDI messages every 15 minutes. Companies must now think in terms of enterprise-ready solutions that scale to these continually growing mandates. The Acsis and SAP approach provides a complete platform to start small, scale and derive value through preconfigured analytics.
"World Kitchen selected SAP and Acsis because they had the capability and knowledge we needed," said Randy Peterson, VP Information Systems of World Kitchen. "Their end to end solution gave us exactly what we needed today and for the future. We realized very early that a 'slap and ship' solution would not be enough and that if we went that route, we would have to start over later when our needs increased. SAP and Acsis had the exact solution we needed today and will scale. Plus they both had a successful history, were stable, and would be around for the future. SAP and Acsis were the only choice."
SAP and Acsis have received multiple accolades in the RFID industry. SAP was ranked #1 in the "Readers Choice Award" for RFID software by Consumer Goods Technology magazine and also received the Early Adopter Award for RFID Software in January 2006. Acsis was named a top 20 RFID solutions provider by ABI Research.
Further information on this solution will be provided by Acsis and SAP during a webinar on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at 2 pm EDT. To register, please visit:
