The City of Dallas Selects SAP and Axon Solutions for City-Wide Enterprise Billing and Customer System

Axon Solutions, Inc. today announced that the City of Dallas, the 9th largest city in the United States, has selected Axon Solutions to implement SAP's IS-U Customer Care and Service solution. The Axon led implementation will replace Dallas Water Utilities' 20 year old legacy CIS system and provide the foundation for PAY1 -- a City-wide initiative to consolidate billing services across all departments. The City of Dallas will leverage SAP(R) for Utilities solution portfolio to help transform its entire customer interaction experience with specific goals of enhancing the quality of customer service and improving the effectiveness of revenue management and reporting.
The City will begin its SAP implementation later this month and expects to finish the project by the end of 2007. The project will provide customer information and world-class billing processes for approximately 380,000 customers representing more than 1.2 million people in the greater Dallas Metro area as well as wholesale water and wastewater services to over 20 neighboring cities. The City conducted a comprehensive analysis of its core customer processes to identify opportunities for improved service efficiency and effectiveness, improvements which will be enabled as a result of the process re-engineering delivered as part of this project.
Dallas Water Utilities' Director Jody Puckett said, "This project is incredibly important for the City of Dallas. Our current legacy system does not provide a true customer focused platform. We are depending on Axon and SAP to deliver this foundation for a city-wide billing solution."
As a result of the rollout of SAP's Solution, the City expects to:

Enhance customer service -- improve call center functions, service call
response time, and on-time delivery through the streamlining and
automation of customer service activities including self service and web
enabled functionalities
- City-Wide Billing (PAY1) -- consolidate City fees, charges and services
into one billing environment to enable customers to receive one bill for
the majority of City services
- Provide a foundation for future growth -- allow the City to be more
adaptable to ever-increasing customer demands by reducing the complexity
of business processes
