HP Newcastle to continue growth of SAP Division

HP Newcastle is growing at 10% per quarter and they are looking out for more staff to join them to continue to expand the SAP business globally.

The Newcastle team is diverse and represents around 22 nationalities from around the globe, bringing together a dynamic blend of experiences and cultures. The team is growing fast at over 10% per financial quarter, consistently growing since the site was setup in 2001. The Newcastle office is expanding rapidly and is on target to continue doing so, they are boosting the local economy by recruiting more and more people in the area. The office delivers SAP applications for companies including many sector leaders in the FTSE 100.

The Newcastle presence is driven by Tim Haines, a well respected global expert in SAP who heads the team at Newcastle and the global satellite offices supporting the Newcastle nucleus. Tim left university with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and started working for ICI before he made the career move into IT. Now, at the age of 34, he is the HP global head of SAP technologies. He has personally managed several major acquisitions around the world, bolstering the work that his team handle. He regularly meets CIOs from world leading FTSE 100 companies with a view to tailoring their organisational IT requirements. His job is to design and manage the IT systems that corporate giants use on a day to day basis to complete their work, making sure it is done efficiently to help them achieve their individual requirements. Past work has widely been accepted as industry exemplary ITIL practice.

Newcastle leads the way by heading the Global Delivery of Application Services for many organisations. The team also co-ordinates, oversees and manages work in Costa Rica, India, China, Malaysia, Philippines, Poland & Slovakia. Newcastle is a popular city to work in because of the high quality of life experienced by those who live in the area. Compared to many other places in the UK the housing is more affordable and the living costs are lower. The city of Newcastle is a modern, vibrant and exciting place to be. HP Newcastle is constantly looking out for new graduates or experienced people to join the team.

The HP Newcastle supports the next generation of employees by giving lectures to local universities to support courses training people for a career in IT. The HP Newcastle team brings expert input to the university courses to relate the student’s academic knowledge to the current marketplace. They offer a range of student placements and internships which are readily taken up by the regions students. They have strong links with Newcastle University, the University of Northumbria, the University of Teeside, the University of Durham and the University of Sunderland.
