by Mercury Interactive Corporation
Optimizes Application Quality During Implementations and Upgrades
Today, Mercury Interactive Corporation , the global leader in business technology optimization (BTO) software, announced that SAP AG (NYSE:SAP) will resell Mercury Quality Center(TM) in the U.S. Mercury Quality Center is a strategic part of Mercury BTO Enterprise(TM), the industry's first integrated suite of BTO offerings designed to help customers optimize the business outcomes of IT, and is Mercury's market-leading optimization center that allows customers to automate software quality management and functional testing. To be available under the brand "SAP(R) Quality Center(TM) by Mercury," it helps customers maximize the value of IT deployments through quality management and optimization capabilities for the mySAP(TM) Business Suite and the SAP NetWeaver(R) platform. Based on the success of the agreement signed last year for SAP to resell Mercury LoadRunner(TM), this agreement underscores SAP's commitment to helping its customers successfully implement SAP(R) applications while minimizing the total cost of ownership (TCO).
In a recent survey of the America's SAP Users' Group (ASUG), 75 percent of survey participants said that testing is the number one time and cost issue that managers grapple with during an upgrade of an SAP system, and 86 percent are concerned about testing coverage of their key business requirements during new implementations and upgrades. To address these issues, SAP Quality Center by Mercury helps customers verify that SAP applications will deliver intended business outcomes before they "go live" with their implementations and upgrades. By using Mercury Quality Center, SAP project managers can automate software quality management and functional testing to optimize the scalability of their business processes which are powered by SAP NetWeaver. This helps customers reduce the time and cost required to deliver new applications and services into production by helping automate, control and enforce quality standards.
"Mercury and SAP have a long and successful track record of enhancing the quality, performance and efficiency of SAP application deployments," said Ross Wainwright, senior vice president, North America Consulting, SAP. "SAP is pleased to expand our relationship in order to resell Mercury's market-leading optimization center. This new agreement underscores our commitment to helping customers successfully implement SAP's solutions, while minimizing total cost of ownership."
"Mercury is committed to helping SAP customers efficiently, cost-effectively and successfully perform testing during implementation, upgrade and 'go live' of their SAP applications," said Joe Sexton, vice president field operations, Americas at Mercury. "This further expansion of our relationship enables customers to use SAP Quality Center by Mercury to test their solutions according to SAP's testing standards, and it represents significant opportunity for Mercury and SAP to jointly focus on optimizing business outcomes from our mutual customers' implementations of SAP applications."
The reseller agreement will initiate upon completion of SAP's validation process.
