VitalSpring Announces that SAP America, Inc. Implements its Solution to Manage Healthcare Costs
by PR Newswire
VitalSpring Technologies, the innovator in health benefits performance software, today announced that SAP America, Inc. has completed the implementation of its solution to manage its health benefits across the enterprise. SAP Human Resource, Benefits and Finance executives will now obtain a single, integrated view of the various components of the company's benefits costs, so they can make more informed decisions.
SAP joins a growing list of large employers that now use the VitalSpring solution to optimize healthcare benefits costs in ways not previously available and timeframes not formerly possible. Earlier this year, the two companies signed an agreement to jointly promote the VitalSpring application to SAP customers and prospects.
SAP's implementation of the VitalSpring application allows for the integration of disparate data sources involving medical and pharmacy claims, disability, workers compensation and other costs, with internal workforce enrollment and financial data. The harmonized result enables senior management to easily access executive dashboards and key performance indicators to identify and analyze specific drivers of healthcare costs across the enterprise. With this information in hand, SAP management can now fully monitor and make more accurate decisions about their health benefits programs that balance both the cost and quality of those offerings.
Using VitalSpring, executives will be able to model potential plan changes within seconds -- a task that formerly took days and weeks to complete -- allowing them to identify areas of cost savings while predicting future costs and impacts to employee care with greater precision and timeliness. Performance metrics and monitoring can then be applied to measure these new plans or initiatives. Further, executives can determine which employee groups run the highest risks, so those costs can be contained through special programs.
"SAP has taken another significant step toward tackling the healthcare cost crisis by selecting the VitalSpring application," said Brian Shay, Manager Rewards & Recognition, SAP America, Inc. "We are confident that through its use, we will become more sophisticated purchasers of healthcare and that both our employees and shareholders will benefit as a result."
"It is a significant milestone to witness companies such as SAP recognize the value that VitalSpring brings to senior management to support their ongoing efforts to impact corporate performance and shareholder value," said Sreedhar Potarazu, President and CEO, VitalSpring. "SAP is ready to demonstrate how it can lower benefits costs and experience a positive impact on the bottom line through the VitalSpring solution."
The VitalSpring solution is the recipient of numerous industry awards, including the DM Review "2005 World Class Solutions Award" and multiple "Product of the Year Awards" from Human Resource Executive Magazine.
