SAP India registers triple-digit growth in 2007

SAP India has registered an unprecedented growth of over 100 per cent both in terms of license revenue and customer acquisition during the current fiscal, its top official said.

A market leader in Indian enterprise software market, the number of its Indian customers has risen from 1,350 in December 2006 to 3024 in December 2007, Ranjan Das, President and CEO SAP India said at a press conference.

"The growth is not confined to any particular sector but has been a balanced one, spread across large, small and mid-size companies. SAP is clear partner of choice for government entities and Indian businesses, across industries and segments", he said.

The company achieved 2.3 times growth in SME revenue year-on-year over FY 2006.

SAP India has added "six plus customers each working day of 2007 and 1700 plus new customers in 2007 with a 68 per cent year-on-year growth in total revenues", Das said.

According to a Frost & Sullivan study, SAP India has a 42 per cent market share in terms of revenues, 36.5 per cent share in Enterprise Resource Planning, 34.8 per cent in Customer Relationship Management and 33.2 per cent Supply Chain Management, he said.

Large Indian companies are continuing to rapidly adopt an IT platform which enables operational excellence and growth. Some of the companies that have adopted SAP solutions recently include ACC, United India Insurance, Modi Rubber and Tata AIG.

Existing customers of SAP, including BHEL, Mahindra & Mahidra, Asian Paints, Tata Motors and HCL, are deepening their technology.

Some of the mid-sized companies that have adopted SAP solutions recently include Nilgiris, Spinach (Wadhawan Food Retail Ltd), Marg Constructions and Bharat Bijlee.
