SAP Public Services, Inc., a subsidiary of SAP AG, has named David Corbett as vice president of its U.S. healthcare practice. The appointment underscores SAP's continued commitment to supporting private sector and government-driven initiatives to improve the quality and delivery of healthcare in the United States. Corbett will be responsible for growing SAP's business in the U.S. healthcare sector and will report directly to Pat Bakey, president of SAP Public Services, Inc.
In his new role, Corbett will lead a team tasked with helping healthcare providers leverage the SAP portfolio of solutions that automate, streamline and simplify core business functions so providers can focus on their core mission of delivering quality patient care. Corbett will also oversee and manage strategic relationships with SAP's healthcare partners to support the increasing need for open, flexible software tools that allow patients, payers, providers, general practitioners and suppliers to collaborate, design and deliver premium healthcare transparently.
Corbett joins SAP with more than 15 years experience in healthcare technology and software. Most recently, he served as vice president of healthcare for the Americas region at Lawson Software where he was responsible for managing healthcare client relationships and new business development. Prior to that, Corbett served in various sales and customer relationship management roles at Shared Medical Systems, now Siemens Health Services.
Corbett is an active member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), the Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM) and the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA).
"David has a proven track record of driving very strong business results in the U.S. healthcare market and consistently showing the value of technology solutions to customers and partners," said Pat Bakey, president, SAP Public Services, Inc. "SAP has an established history of helping more than 1,000 healthcare customers become best-run businesses across the globe and we are confident that this, coupled with David's market expertise and strong leadership skills, will enable us to extend our innovative best practices and enterprise solutions to the dynamic and growing U.S. healthcare market."
