St John Ambulance Supplies implements SAP Business One

St John Ambulance Supplies, which provides health and safety, first aid and training equipment, is implementing SAP Business One, SAP's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for small and mid-sized companies.

St John Ambulance Supplies plans to substantially grow the company to support its sister organisation, St John Ambulance - the nation's leading first aid charity and plans to deploy the technology to improve processes and drive efficiency. SAP Business One was purchased in July. The project is being managed by SAP specialist AlphaGen and will go live in March 2008, replacing a bespoke system.

Stephen English, general manager of St John Ambulance Supplies, said the software will improve the way customer orders are handled.

"When an employee was on the phone to customers, orders had to be looked up manually. SAP Business One means orders can be automatically pulled up and all relevant information is at hand while the customer is on the phone," he said.

SAP Business One will run across multiple sites of St John Ambulance Supplies departments. The package includes customer relationship management, inventory and distribution, ordering and delivery, purchasing and merchandising, production and manufacturing, human resources, e-commerce and financial and accounting modules.
