WebMethods unveils its latest solution for SAP users

by Sherief Younis

WebMethods, a business integration and optimisation software company, has introduced Optimise for SAP, its new business activity monitoring (BAM) solution for order-to-cash and other SAP processes.

WebMethods believes its new solution will help enterprises improve business process performance through the delivery of actionable, real-time insight into end-to-end business processes spanning both SAP and non-SAP systems.

“Users have long sought better real-time monitoring and reporting for their SAP-based business processes. Unfortunately, this needed insight is too often trapped within the underlying SAP architecture and its inherent complexity,” said Marc Breissinger, chief technology officer at WebMethods.

The company believes enterprises can utilise the solution to provide real-time decision-making and identify, and rectify, process issues before they impact performance. Other features of the solution include conforming to key performance indicators (KPIs), easily configurable reporting dashboards and corrective action alerts.

“WebMethods Optimise for SAP builds upon our rich heritage of SAP integration and our best-in-class business activity monitoring technology to extend real-time performance monitoring to process data residing within and across SAP systems.

"With a better understanding of how their processes are operating, enterprises can run leaner, more quickly resolve discrepancies within orders, and more efficiently meet customer commitments,” he adds.

Operating at a granular business event level - enabling real-time monitoring of both SAP-based business process, as well non-SAP systems – the company believes the new solution will deliver comprehensive, actionable insight and a far broader perspective than the one offered by a SAP application reporting alone. WebMethods Optimise for SAP ships March 2007.

“This is another addition to the suite of WebMethods technologies that embrace and extend the value of SAP – I’m expecting my team to see a lot of customer interest in this area,” Anupam Ahluwalia, practice manager at WebMethods MENA, concluded.
